I love you. And in case there's anybody left who doubts that, I found someone who could say what I'd like to much more eloquently than I ever could.

@mber

P.S. The rest of my family flies into Seattle tonight, so we're picking them up and brining them to Sequim. It'll be a fun way to celebrate, no?

We're officially engaged!!!

Yup! Its true. After planning the wedding, getting the wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses, and getting a whole HOST of things ready in Thailand, we flew all the way to Seattle to reunite with Jake after 7 and a half months of being apart! Mom and Dad Mooney were there too along with Sammy and Kate! Jake and gotten flowers for both me and my mom, so Jake gave me mine and Sammy gave my mom hers. We drove straight to the house at George Washington Inn and unloaded everything. Said goodnight around midnight, and got up pretty early the next morning. After talking with my family that was still in Thailand and then eating breakfast (Jake and Richard cooked! ), we went over to the Inn to have lunch and take the tour. Hannah Mooney came over for that.

After lunch, Richard, Jake and I went down to the beach. After coming back up, Richard was panting and needed a drink! I convinced him to come with Jake and I over to the bluff so Jake and I wouldn't be alone. lol. So we walked along the cliff and then Jake suggested we sit at the picnic bench. Richard sat for a minute, then said he REALLY needed a drink. So... as he left I turned to Jake and asked, "Should we go in with him?". Jake said, "Naw, we can stay for a little bit. We're in plain sight."

Then he said, "Oh! I've got something for you!" and pulled out a red envelope. Inside was a puzzle. Took me forever to get it together (a little 9-piece puzzle... all I can say is, I was jetlagged???? haha) and Jake even offered to help me. So, finally we got it put together and it had little cupids on it with an outside ring in the shape of a heart. The whole inside was blank white. So he gave me a little pen and said it had a secret message so I had to find out what it was. So I started rubbing the pen (it was similar to a highlighter, but all white) across the surface of the puzzle and I got "To: Amber From: Jake". Then the cupids had arrows pointed at each other across the page so I started at one point and started rubbing..."I... l... o..." I slowed down. "...v...e..." Almost stopped completely. "...y...o...u...!"

Now... Jake and I had decided not to use the "L" word until after we were engaged. So... I guess I was still jet-lagged cuz I STILL wasn't putting two-and-two together! I turned and almost said "I thought we were going to wait?" When he said "I've got one more thing." And pulled out a little velvet-covered box. My mouth fell open. Jake and implied that we were going to pick out the ring together because he just couldn't decide what to get. But he said, "I love you, Amber. Will you marry me?" and opened the box to display the most elegant, beautiful ring I've ever seen.

And I could hardly speak, but I finally got out a "yes" and he put the ring on my finger. I asked if anybody knew and he pointed at the Inn and said "Richard should be filming from one of those windows. ". lol!

So... I was completely surprised... I never dreamed he would propose the FIRST day we were here! And he was counting on that. It was all perfect. Just perfect.

Anyway... that's the news! I'll be catching you all around! You can check out Jake's site as well if you'd like.

@mber

This is what happens...

...when you try to pack up your life.

This is me, normal, sane, and completely oblivious of the horrors involved in packing

After the first couple hours of sorting through old papers and letters, your vision gets a little blurry...

Then, after 5 more hours of going through junk, drawers and shelves and realizing that you've been hanging onto stuff before you even knew what 'sentimental value' MEANT, you start to get a little loopy...

After 12 hours, it all starts going downhill and you realize that if you open one more letter, move one more pile from one side of the room to the other, or sneeze at one more piece of dust, you WILL pull out your hair...

The countdown is now 2 days 9 hours and 51 minutes... yipes! Hope you all are having a great day.
Jake... Still haven't gotten all the pictures... guess the ppl getting the pictures put onto cd's are like me... no time to check to see if everybody got one. lol.

So here's the news. I leave Thailand in 6 days!!!! My room is completely turned inside out... kind of how my stomach feels! I just know I'm gonna forget something or someone or... hmmm... can't think of anymore 'some-' words. lol. Everyday has been JAMMED with stuff to do. For instance... last Tuesday,

8am-12:30am - General mayhem getting people fed, ready to go, planning excruciating details for the day, making phone calls
12:35 - More mayhem, half the kids in the van with Ang and me going to drop me at the dentist
1:00pm - Me dropped off at the dentist, Ang and her passel off to the eye-doctor / meanwhile second half of the kids on the way from home with Dad in truck to meet up at dentist
1:40am - Dad arrives in truck with kids, drops them off and picks me up/ Ang comes back in van from eye doctor to the dentist to watch kids
1:41am - Dad tells me the van parking lights are on and won't go off
1:50am - Dad and I (in truck) stop at picture place to get film developed
2:00pm - Stop at printers to order cards
2:30pm - Dad drops me off with a sandwich and a stack of math books back at the dentist
2:35pm - I drop of math books for Charles and Josh to work on while Richard and Autumn (who have had their dental work done) get in the van with me
2:45pm - I realize the little red light is flashing next to the gas meter
2:55pm - I pick up developed film
3:00pm - I panic cuz I don't know how long the red light has been flashing and we're stuck at a stop-light
3:05pm - I swerve into a gas station and get a full tank of gas
3:30pm - I drop pictures off where we are getting them put on cards
4:02pm - I am two minutes late in arriving to XTTV but we've made it!
4:15pm - I'm told my parking lights are on
4:30pm - Dad picks up Ang and Chuck and Josh at dentist
6:10pm - Me, Autumn, and Rich on our way home
6:45pm - We disconnect the battery power from the van so the battery won't die :wink:

That is a typical day these days! We go into town almost every day and we're constantly moving... as soon as we get one thing done, we're racing off to the next! But, only 6 more days....

I'll see some of you really soon! As for the rest, I hope to see you sometime this year.
Ta!
@mber

All the time in the world...

...actually, that's something I don't have. Time. I've been working really hard to get ready to go back to the US. In case some of you missed the memo, I'm returning to the US on March 11th! Packing has never looked so ominous. lol

I've finished working on the movie... its was a great crew and a difficult shoot, but I'm hoping I pulled my weight. We only have a working title at the moment so I don't know what the movie will be called, but its a docu-drama on the life of J.O.Fraser. Very powerful story. The fact that he worked with the lisu people and that I got to help with filming something on his life is incredible. The lisu hilltribe has been our missions goal for going-on 4 generations, and we've gotten to benefit from and to see first-hand the fruit of Fraser's work. My uncle has taken the Fraser script and now prints and distributes bibles and hymnbooks for the lisu. My dad, grandpa, and another uncle run the bible school in the village that we live - which, obviously, involves the need for a written language... which the lisu didn't have until Fraser came along.

Ok, I promised pictures, and I'll keep my word. I've just gotta get ahold of those pictures! lol. I was in charge of continuity so one of my jobs was TAKING pictures, so I'll have to find the good one's. They're putting all the pictures on a cd and giving it out though. I also have to be careful which one's I put up due to the fact that the movie isn't OUT yet. The editing will be taking place all throughout spring, but should be ready to premiere by this summer.

As for Matthew... his injury happened over the weekend when I was actually at home, but I had to leave a day later to go back up to the shoot. I was getting updates from my family the same as everybody else, so I'm sorry for not being an informant. He is doing MUCH better now though and I was even there to help him sit up without the support of a bed (just in a backbrace) for the first time a few days ago! Praise the Lord for each small step forward. Please keep my mom in your prayers as she has been sleeping at the hospital since the accident and hasn't even hardly been home or left the hospital for over two weeks now.

So, this is a somewhat dull post... not even ONE picture, but I figured getting info out there instead of waiting for pictures was the smartest thing to do. Hope ya'll are doing good!
@mber

New Movie

Hey ya'll...

Well, my xanga has all but died over here, but I am very much alive and active! I've been quite busy the past few weeks with holidays and such... and now, I'm off working on another movie! Its a docu-drama on the life of J. O. Fraser. Many of you might not know who that is, but he's pretty 'famous' over here for having created the 'Fraser script', also known as the written Lisu language. Its the hilltribe the Morse family has worked with for three - going on four - generations. Its a privilege to get to work on this, and I'm really excited. The schedule is a killer, but its only 5 weeks with weekends off in C'mai. We drive up about 2 hours north-west every week, stay 5-6 days, and drive back down on the evening of the final shooting day. So we have Sundays and drive up Monday nights... usually.

No pictures yet, but its a hectic time and we're only two days into it. This week was a little different because we're shooting in C'Mai this weekend. I'm beat, but very excited about working on this film.

Anyway... I hope to have some hilarious pictures of the guy who plays Fraser. We made him up to look REALLY ill in the movie and boy.... does he look ill! lol. Meanwhile, I'll catch ya'll later!
@mber

Somebody's Birthday....

Ok, I've got it on good authority that its a certain someone's birthday. Maybe you've forgotten that I wasn't actually born during this time of the year and that it was some of your predecessors who decided to celebrate My birthday on what was actually a time of pagan festival. Although I do appreciate being remembered anytime. How I personally feel about this celebration can probably be most easily understood by those of you who have been blessed with children of your own. I don't care what you call the day. If you want to celebrate My birth, just GET ALONG AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

Now, having said that let Me go on. If it bothers you that the town in which you live doesn't allow a scene depicting My birth, then just get rid of a couple of Santas and snowmen and put in a small Nativity scene on your own front lawn. If all My followers did that there wouldn't be any need for such a scene on the town square because there would be many of them all around town.

Stop worrying about the fact that people are calling the tree a holiday tree, instead of a Christmas tree. It was I who made all trees. You can remember Me anytime you see any tree. Decorate a grape vine if you wish: I actually spoke of that one in a teaching, explaining who I am in relation to you and what each of our tasks were. If you have forgotten that one, look up John 15: 1 - 8.

If you want to give Me a present in remembrance of My birth here is my wish list. Choose something from it:

1. Instead of writing protest letters objecting to the way My birthday is being celebrated, write letters of love and hope to soldiers away from home. They are terribly afraid and lonely this time of year. I know, they tell Me all the time.

2. Visit someone in a nursing home. You don't have to know them personally. They just need to know that someone cares about them.

3. Instead of writing George complaining about the wording on the cards his staff sent out this year, why don't you write and tell him that you'll be praying for him and his family this year. Then follow up. It will be nice hearing from you again.

4. Instead of giving your children a lot of gifts you can't afford and they don't need, spend time with them. Tell them the story of My birth, and why I came to live with you down here. Hold them in your arms and remind them that I love them.

5. Pick someone that has hurt you in the past and forgive him or her.

6. Did you know that someone in your town will attempt to take their own life this season because they feel so alone and hopeless? Since you don't know who that person is, try giving everyone you meet a warm smile; it could make the difference.

7. Instead of nit picking about what the retailer in your town calls the holiday, be patient with the people who work there. Give them a warm smile and a kind word. Even if they aren't allowed to wish you a 'Merry Christmas' that doesn't keep you from wishing them one. Then stop shopping there on Sunday. If the store didn't make so much money on that day they'd close and let their employees spend the day at home with their families

8. If you really want to make a difference, pray for a missionary--especially one who takes My love and Good News to those who have never heard My name.
